MIDI juke-box, kallað eftir verkum
Áhugasamir eru hvattir til að senda MIDI skrá, til afspilunar á tónleikunum MIDI juke-box kl 14:00 þann 3.maí 2025 í Fŕikirkjunni í Reykjavík. Verkin verða spiluð í gegnum tölvu og upplýsingarnar úr MIDI skránni leiknar á Sauer orgel Fríkirkjunnar, elsta pípuorgel landsins.

Forrit
Það er hægt að búa til MIDI skrár í ýmsum forritum, t.d. Ableton Live, MuseScore, Cubase, FL Studio, MixPad, SynthFont, Crescendo, Aria Maestosa, MidiQuickFix, MidiSwing, Finale, PianoRollComposer, Sibelius, Denemo, Cakewalk, GarageBand og mörgum fleiri.

Hraði/Stíll/Tónlistartegund
Það eru ekki neinar takmarkanir á hvernig tónlist tölvan getur sent til orgelsins. Allir mögulegir hljómar, laglínur, taktur og nótnalengdir eru spilanlegar, óháð því hvort hægt sé að leika það með mennskum fingrum. Það má jafnvel segja að tónlistin verði áhugaverðari sé hún óspilanleg, eða hvað?

MIDI file instructions
MIDI jukebox, call for works
Interested people are encouraged to send a MIDI file, for playback at the MIDI jukebox concert at 14:00 on May 3, 2025 at Fríkirkjan in Reykjavík. The works will be played via computer and the information from the MIDI file played on the Fríkirkjan Sauer organ, the oldest pipe organ in the country.

Software
MIDI files can be created in various programs, e.g. Ableton Live, MuseScore, Cubase, FL Studio, MixPad, SynthFont, Crescendo, Aria Maestosa, MidiQuickFix, MidiSwing, Finale, PianoRollComposer, Sibelius, Denemo, Cakewalk, GarageBand and many more.

Duration
It is best to keep the piece short, for example one or maximum two minutes. Note that if many pieces are submitted we might have to shorten or play fragments.
Registration
It is not necessary to include MIDI commands for selecting registers in the file, as they can be selected before, or even during playback. Speed/Style/Genre
There are no restrictions on what kind of music material the computer can send to the organ. Every possible chord, melody, rhythm, and note length is playable, regardless of whether it can be played with human fingers. You could even say that music becomes more interesting if it is unplayable, or what?
